Can eating spicy food really induce child labour? Film director Gurinder Chadha would doubtless agree. The “Bend it like Beckham” director got more of a spicy kick than she bargained for after dining at modern Indian restaurant Rooburoo – she gave birth to twins shortly after.

The Lobbyists launches - 15/06/07
There’s a quiet revolution happening in Park Lane today. The Metropolitan are reinventing the classic hotel lobby with the launch of a new weekly event “The Lobbyists.” Each month a themed event – from fashion to film - will be the backdrop for live music and cocktails in the Lobby Lounge. Thursday and Friday from 6pm – 9pm.

Café de Paris transformed - 14/06/07
Historical Piccadilly circus venue Café de Paris has been transformed into a lavish 1940’s style film set for the Dylan Thomas film The Edge of Love, starring Sienna Miller and Kiera Knightley. The club was one of the author’s favourite nightspots.

Fresh from his six-week tour to China, Paul Merton was spotted tucking into some Pan-Asian dishes at Notting Hill’s E&O. Meanwhile, it was a spicy meal of another sort when Posh met with Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell for lunch at Blake’s in Chelsea.

Power couple Brad Pitt and Angelia Jolie have been spotted enjoying Ian Pengelley’s Pan-Asian cuisine at Camden restaurant Gilgamesh. Meanwhile Dermot O-Leary tucked into some eggs at Villandry in Great Portland Street.

Great British Menu winners - 05/06/07
The winning chefs have been revealed in the Great British Menu. Sat Bains (Restaurant Sat Bains), Richard Corrigan (Bentley’s Oyster Bar) and Mark Hix (Rivington Bar and Grill, Bam-bou) will travel to France to cook for the British Ambassador in the final.
