Emma Bunton's partner Jade Jones has spoken about the couple's new baby son, Beau.

Delivering the good news outside the hospital today, the beaming new father said: "Baby's had a baby now.  It's pretty good, just amazing. We're both over the moon and absolutely thrilled to bits to have our little boy with us now."

Jade said Beau was "beautiful".

He said: "His name is French for handsome and he is definitely very handsome.  He weighed 7lb 15oz and is just gorgeous. Emma is upstairs doing really well, just recovering and bonding with the baby. Both are having a little nap right now.

"I'm just pleased to have our little baby boy with us. I'm over the moon.  I don't want to miss a single second without him."

He joked of the new arrival: "He looks a bit like both of us actually, so he's a very lucky boy.

"It (the birth) still feels like a minute ago. It's an amazing feeling, which I can't describe."

Former Baby Spice Emma Bunton will chat about her pregnancy and becoming a mum during a revealing interview with Richard and Judy tonight.

It’s thought the 31-year-old - who is expecting her first child in the summer with boyfriend Jade Jones - will talk about balancing her career with motherhood and her struggle with endometriosis, a condition which affects fertility.

The singer, who is rumoured to be about to wed former Damage frontman Jade, will also be quizzed about whether she’s planning to take a trip up the aisle.

The couple, who have been dating for eight years, announced their happy news last month.

They said: "We are so happy, it’s unbelievable news. What a great start to the New Year.

"We’re really looking forward to having a family together and to the rest of our lives."

Emma’s interview with Richard and Judy will be on Channel 4 from 5pm tonight.

Well-wishes from the other ex-Spice Girls have started flooding in for mum-to-be Emma Bunton, with Victoria Beckham being the first to express her delight.

"I am so excited for Emma. It really is fantastic news, and she really will make a perfect mummy!" the 32-year-old mother-of-three told People magazine.

Also still close to the former Baby Spice, "Sporty" Melanie C has been described as "overjoyed" with the news.

"[Melanie] is absolutely delighted," her manager told People magazine. "She spent much of the weekend trying to reach Emma, as they kept missing each other. She is overjoyed, thrilled to bits for her. As everyone is."

Emma, 31, who recently finished working on the hit reality show Strictly Come Dancing, announced her pregnancy with boyfriend of eight years, 27-year-old Jade Jones, on Friday, saying, "I guess I will be handing over the ’Baby’ tag now to a deserving little new owner."
