Sarah Harding has apparently revealed that she plans to ditch her blonde crop in favour of long dark tresses when Girls Aloud eventually go their separate ways.

The band does not have plans to part company, but it seems the 25-year-old party girl is planning for the day they do, reports the Daily Star.

"I want a real dramatic transformation when the band finally part. That's the time for going dark. It's be like turning over a new leaf - becoming a whole new person," she is quoted as saying.

And with winter approaching, Sarah added that she now regrets going for such a short hairdo, reportedly saying: "I'm sick of having nothing to hide behind."

Meanwhile, Girls Aloud are officially Britain's most successful girl band, according to the new Guinness Book Of World Records.

The famous five have won a spot for most consecutive hits from their rivals the Spice Girls. The group have had 17 chart entries since forming on Popstars: The Rivals five years ago.

They've also had four platinum selling albums, including their greatest hits collection The Sound Of Girls Aloud.

Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding has said that she’s not a complete waster - but admits that she is known to binge drink.

Speaking to the Sun, the blonde star said: "I don’t want to be known as a slapper or a p***head. I’m not as bad this year. I have calmed down. I’m not always drunk like people think.

"I want people to see that there’s more to me than just going out and getting trolleyed."

Although Sarah is a role model for young girls, she admits there are problems with her drinking habits.

"I can’t say I’m not a binge drinker," she says. "I do go out and drink and get photographed, but I’m not always as wasted as people think."

The singer added that she’s not always as drunk as she looks.

"Sometimes I’m blinking because of all the camera flashes going off. I’m no angel but surely I’m allowed to go out and have a good time occasionally."

Sarah Harding was singing her new boyfriend’s praises, as she braved the British summer at T4 On The Beach.

"I don’t know why they keep describing him as a market trader, he’s a DJ," she said of new bloke Tom Crane. "But anyway, why am I always supposed to date another celeb?"

And she insisted that her reputation as Girls Aloud’s party girl is unfair.

"I’m not always out getting drunk. Admittedly I went out a couple of nights in a row recently but so what? The press make such a big deal of it, it’s just double standards. You don’t see them saying the same things about blokes," she said backstage.

Meanwhile Cheryl Cole took the opportunity to debut a new 60s style shoulder-length bob and lament the two-week absence of her Chelsea footballer hubby, Ashley.

The group were performing their new single Sexy! No, No No, as well as older hits including Something Kinda Oooh.

Mika, McFly, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Natasha Bedingfield were among the other acts who turned out on the sodden beach at Weston-super-Mare.
