Orangutan Walk - Sunday 24 June 2020

A fun day out in Holland Park, Sunday, 24th June (11am-5pm) to benefit the Orangutan Foundation.

You and your family and friends can join a sponsored walk and more, and at the same time help support the Foundation's efforts to save endangered orangutans & their rainforest home.

At the walk there will also be a tombola (prizes donated by companies, including Hamleys, the Body Shop, Green & Black's chocolate and several local businesses), & for kids . . . a picnic, face painting, balloons, animal masks & more.

Prizes, including soft toy orangutans from Hamleys & HMV vouchers, will be awarded for participants with sponsorship totals over certain amounts.

If you are interested in participating in the walk, and helping raise money for the Foundation, then you can send an email to orangutanwalk@yahoo.com or ring 020 8392 4973 to request a registration pack.

If you would like to help by sponsoring the walk's participants, then you could have a collection and make a cheque to the 'Orangutan Foundation', and send it to "Orangutan Walk, Orangutan Foundation, 7 Kent Terrace, London, NW1 4RP". (Any amount, no matter how small, would greatly help the orangutans.)

Or you could….. …..Buy or sell raffle tickets

A raffle has also been organised in order to raise money for the Orangutan Foundation. Top prize: £500 2nd prizes: Various prizes (donated by local companies) including a hamper of Green & Black's organic chocolate, a free meal from Portobello Gold, a hamper from Fresh & Wild, soft toy orangutans from Hamleys . . . & many more!! Tickets cost £1. Anyone interested in buying or helping to sell tickets should contact the raffle organisers (orangutanwalk@yahoo.com; 020 8392 4973).

Thank you for helping!

The Orangutan Foundation works in Borneo to save orangutans and their rainforest habitat. Orangutan populations have declined drastically in the last 5 years due to loss of habitat and the illegal pet trade. The Foundation works to rehabilitate ex-captive orangutans for eventual release into the wild, and to plant indigenous trees as part of a reforestation programme. By protecting the rainforest, the Foundation not only saves orangutans, but all the animals that depend on the forest for survival.
