Stars set for Diana concert - Dec 12 2006
Sir Elton John, Joss Stone, Duran Duran, Bryan Ferry and Pharrell Williams will perform at a concert in memory of Princess Diana .

Details of the show were unveiled by Prince William and Harry today.

The royal brothers, now 24 and 22, announced that the star-studded pop concert and a memorial service will be held in their mother’s memory next year.

The Concert for Diana will be staged at the new £757 million Wembley Stadium on the Princess’s birthday, July 1, when she would have turned 46.

The commemorative memorial service will take place in London on the anniversary of her death on August 31 - 10 years to the day since she died in a car crash in Paris.

William said he wanted the pop concert to be "the best birthday present" his mother ever had and revealed the line-up will be inspired by her musical tastes.

In a nod to Diana’s love of dancing and musicals, there will be an appearance by the English National Ballet, while Andrew Lloyd Webber will stage a medley of songs from his West End shows.

Further acts will be announced at a later date.

Will’s big night out - April 05
Prince William has been snapped out on the town with his girlfriend Kate Middleton. The duo shunned a quiet Easter at Balmoral with Charles and Camilla in favour of partying at Fulham’s Sugar Hut. A wife for William? - April 05
We’ve all been gagging for more details about Prince William’s new squeeze, so here they are. Wills met Kate in 2002 at St Andrews University, where they both study History of Art, and they moved in to a luxury flat together with the Prince’s old Eton chum, Fergus Boyd. At the time it was denied that the duo were a couple as Kate had a boyfriend, but more recently the pair have been snapped getting up close and personal and even taking romantic breaks in Verbiers and on the remote tropical island of Rodrigues.

Biography

William Arthur Philip Louis Mountbatten-Windsor, or Prince William of Wales was born in London on June 21 1982 to Charles, Prince of Wales and his then wife Diana, making him second in line to the British throne.

William made his first public appearance in Cardiff on St David’s Day 1991.  By this time, it is rumoured, his parents were seperated, although they did not officially divorce until 1996.  In 1997 Diana was killed in a tragic car accident and the funeral saw William and his brother, Harry, become of real public interest for the first time.

Educated at Eton College William has three A levels in Art History, Geography and Biology.  After leaving school he took a year out, during which he took part in a British Army training exercise in Belize and spent time with the Raleigh initiative in Chile.  Wills later gained a 2:1 BA in History of Art at St Andrews University in Scotland before following in the footsteps of his younger brother by joining up at Sandhurst Military Academy, graduating in late 2006 and also joining the Blues and Royals.  He will train to become a troop commanderthrough 2007 and although it seems unlikely that he will see active service he has indicated that he would be willing to do so.

On the event of his father’s ascension to the throne William will become Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay and, most likely, Prince of Wales.  Should he become King himself he will likely be known as King William V, although he is free to choose any of his Christian names as a regnal name.

Throughout recent years William has been linked to several unlikely women, among them Natalie Imbruglia, Christina Aguleira and Britney Spears.  William split with long term girlfriend Kate Middleton, whom he met at University, in 2007 putting an end to rumours that she was to be Britain’s future Queen.
