London Club News: The end of an era?- Win passes to the final We Are You

After a whirlwind 6 months WE ARE YOU is closing!! The club-night that 'brought house music to the Scala' has decided that it needs a change of scenery! Don't worry it's not disappearing; it will become a series of monthly parties at various venues. Make sure that you make an effort and arrive early for this event as this is going to be a roadblock.

Craig Jensen and Red Jerry the residents from the start have specially prepared sets for the finale 'not to be be missed', Promoter Toni Tambourine gushes 'We Are You is awesome club-night. We introduced a new type of line up for the clubber. We brought the best of US house and Tech House to the Scala and had some amazing events. WE ARE YOU as a brand is strong.'

'I will continue to push it with a series of one off parties in the future'. As all closing parties they will make sure that they finish in the same way that they started - spectacularly. We Are You is joined by SPACE, who are teaming up with to host the main room. They're reputation is built on the fact that they have one of the most chi-chi crowds in London, everyone makes an effort and don't be surprised if you see a theme or two going on.

Their musical taste is awesome and they will be introducing DJ's Physical Ed, Steve Montavari and Matt Dean to our main room. These guys hardly ever do parties and when they do it goes off supersonic style.

To win VIP tickets to the closing night, answer this simple question

Who is the promoter of We Are You? Answer by email to tony@myvillage.co.uk

The WE ARE YOU closing party is at the SCALA on 4th Aug

Gorillaz shun the Mercury Music Awards-Win the Gorillaz album

As well as snubbing the Notting Hill Carnival, The Gorillaz have turned their backs on the prestigious Mercury Music Prize, leading the way wide open for nu-dull buskers Turin Brakes to bag the big money/unit-shifting prize.

But, despite the fact the 2D band have pulled out of the race, their record company have other ideas. Parlophone Records submitted the LP, which was odds on to win, and are refusing rolling over and hand the prize to the competition. The Gorillaz bass player Murdoc says: "Mercury Award? Sounds a bit heavy man! Y'know sorta like carrying a dead albatross round your neck for eternity. No thanks man! Why don't you nominate some other poor Muppet!"

When asked if they were rejecting the prize because they were afraid they would look bad if they didn't win, Murdoch said: "What are you wittering on about? We've already won this egg and spoon race by pulling out and you'll find us behind the bike sheds smoking. I pity the person that wins the cup that we've already pissed in."

To win a copy of the Gorillaz album answer this simple question

Is Poshspice.com the worst website in pop?

La Beckham must have spent in excess of £20k on her new cyberspace opus Victoriabeckham.mu and it's a prime example of a celeb taking their media persona far too seriously.

The (supposedly ironic) cartoon Beckhams take us on a journey through their Home Counties pad 'Beckingham palace', pausing to listen to Posh's sub-Geri new record and visit Brooklyn playroom. But the icing on the cake is the VIP area, which looks set to become a money-spinner for the luckiest girl in pop. At £1.50 a go, kids can spend their hard-earned car-washing money to get a password to visit the VIP lounge 15 times. Well worth the money. Visit and cringe.
