  • Place/Date of Birth: Bridgend, South Wales, 01 February 2021

"Gavin is really proud of Charlotte winning her award in the week. He loves her show and is so chuffed for her but also doesn’t want to lose her to her burgeoning career," an insider is quoted by the paper as saying.

"She’s been really settled of late. She doesn’t drink much and they just stay in at home together.

"It seems like the right time to think of marriage for Gavin. And Charlotte wants to marry him but not next year. He kept pushing the issue and they had a massive bust-up."

On the rocks - Apr 05
Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson are arguing already. It looks like the honeymoon is already over for the Welsh couple as, according to the Sunday Mirror, they have had a series of bust ups over Gavin’s partying ways. According to sources close to the pair Charlotte was furious when Gavin insisted on going out when she fancied a quiet night in and he retaliated by following Natalie Imbruglia around during a trip to Isis in London, where the Aussie songstress was performing. Onlookers saw Gavin plead with the organisers to let him backstage, moaning "Just take me to her, I have to meet her. I want to swap phone numbers with her." Oh dear.

Biography

Forget Johnny Wilkinson, rugby’s new main man is Gavin Henson - inside centre for Wales and fly half for top Celtic club the Ospreys, this is the guy that secured Wales’ astounding win at the Six Nations Championships this year (2005).

Born on February 1st 1982 in Bridgend, South Wales, Gavin certainly has the rugby bug in his blood - his father, Alan Henson played prop for Maesteg - and from a young age he showed real promise on the pitch and wowed anyone who saw him play at junior level.

Gavin made his senior debut for Swansea in 2000 and the following year earned his first Wales cap while touring Japan and was named IRB and Wales Young Player of the Year. However, not long after the player Gavin had been playing in the place of returned and his international career was cut short and he concentrated on his place within the Ospreys.

2004 saw him back on the Wales first team and a number of good performances, including a record fourteen conversions in a test against Japan during the Autumn internationals, secured his place as one of Wales’ top players and, following this, he was a shoo in for a place on the 2005 Six Nations team and the Lions tour in the same year.

Gavin’s Six Nations performance, more than helping Wales’ with the series of wins that saw them lift the Grand Slam trophy, has cemented his place in the rugby hall of fame while his relationship with Cardiff singing sensation Charlotte Church has thrown him in to the media spotlight and made him the most recognisable sports star since that English rugby player.now what was his name again?
