"Noel, along with Gem, have had a great time performing their semi acoustic shows recently and will continue to do so when it feels like a good idea, however Glastonbury is not on the agenda," it said.

"The summer of 2007 is set to be a relatively quiet time for Oasis with the band members writing and demoing new songs."

Noel goes solo? - April 13 2007
Noel Gallagher has apparently revealed he’s nearly ready to release his first solo album.

The Oasis guitarist said he was excited about producing work under his own name, but reassured fans it did not spell the end of the legendary band, saying they are also due to record a new album, NME reports.

"I’ve actually got a backlog of songs that are slowly building up. The thing about a solo record is the time to do one is between Oasis world tours because you’d have a good couple of years," he said.

"I’ve got a backlog now of about four or five songs which are probably too far in the past as far as the band is concerned, but which could work on my record... it’s coming."

Profilic songwriter Noel said there are also eight songs that he wants to put on the new Oasis album.

"The next one in theory is already written. I’ve got eight songs that I’m pretty happy with.

"I think Liam’s got one or two that he thinks are brilliant. We’re waiting for Gem and Andy. It’s just a case of sitting down and saying, ’When do we want to do this?’"

Noel ’can’t wait’ to be dad - Mar 27 2007
Noel Gallagher has revealed he can’t wait to be a father again after news that his long-term girlfriend Sara MacDonald is pregnant.

Speaking at last night’s Teenage Cancer Trust gig, the Oasis songwriter told Virgin Radio: "I’m looking forward to seeing a direct cross between me and my Mrs because she is gorgeous and I’m a genius."

Noel, 39, who has a seven-year-old daughter Anais with ex-wife Meg Mathews, joked that another addition to the Gallagher family was "what the world has been waiting for".

Noel, who picked up the Outstanding Contribution To Music award for Oasis at the Brits last month, also said he will carry on making music.

"There’s nothing really I haven’t achieved. As long as I can still get excited being a rock and roll star then I’ll carry on doing it," he said.

"If I wasn’t a songwriter I’d have just quit and retired. But I can be sat at home and it drives me into the studio.

"If you put a record out you are obliged to go out and make more millions."

The full interview with Noel will be broadcast this afternoon on Virgin Radio’s Drivetime with Ben Jones between 4-8pm.

Baby on the way for Noel - Mar 8 2007
Noel Gallagher is to become a daddy again.

The Oasis star’s girlfriend Sara MacDonald is three months pregnant - and the pair couldn’t be more chuffed.

A spokeswoman for the band said: "I can confirm that Noel and Sara are expecting a baby and they are very happy."

It will be the first child for the couple but the second for Noel, who has a seven-year-old daughter, Anais, by ex-wife Meg Mathews.

Rumours of the pregnancy began when the couple attended the NME Awards last week and Sara stuck to soft drinks at the notoriously boozy bash.

The pair have been together for seven years.

Noel, 39, split from Meg in 2000 after a three-year marriage and they divorced in January 2001.
