Sophie to focus on modelling career? - Oct 3 2007
Sophie Anderton has apparently vowed to take a step back from her TV career following a string of reality show appearances.
The model reportedly told the Daily Express: "I’m going back to my roots - modelling full time. No more distractions, no more TV work. Modelling is what I do best.
Sophie, 30, was known as Me-Me by presenters and the media when she appeared on ITV’s Love Island alongside Lady Victoria Hervey and former Boyzone star Shane Lynch last year, due to her emotional behaviour.
The stunning brunette has also taken part in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Cirque de Celebrite, from which she was forced to make an early exit after damaging her ligaments.
The former underwear model has reportedly decided that the public might have got the wrong impression of her, and wants to devote herself to her modelling career.
Sophie’s movie role cut down? - Mar 11 2007
Sophie Anderton might have to put her dreams of Hollywood superstardom on hold, after her film debut was apparently chopped to just one second of screen time.
It seems the model-turned-reality TV star had thought she would launch a successful acting career after landing a part in the movie Popcorn, a British comedy about a teenager obsessed with a cinema usherette.
But an insider told the Daily Express that Sophie’s role is now a minimal one.
"Blink and you’ll miss her. She’ll be waiting a long time before Hollywood calls," the source said.
The 29-year-old brunette had reportedly bragged: "I am an actress and this project is very exciting. I play the lead cameo role in the film - a serial killer. I get to chase off a man with a 12-inch knife."
Film bosses apparently claim they dropped some of Sophie’s footage because it "slowed down" the action in the flick, which also stars former EastEnder Jack Ryder.
Sophie quits the circus - Nov 20 2006
Supermodel Sophie Anderton has quit Cirque De Celebrite after injuring herself.
She was carried off the reality TV show after damaging her ligaments, the Sun reports.
The model was in agony after the accident and has refused to carry on with the Sky One series.
But a source on the show told the paper, "There have been all sorts of upsets" - and suggested Sophie wanted to leave because of feuding with the other celebs.
The remaining contestants on the Ruby Wax-fronted contest include Grace Adams-Short from Big Brother and Blazin’ Squad’s Kenzie.
Sophie, 29, apparently intended to pull out of the circus show before she was injured after rowing with the other stars, according to the Sun.
She was replaced by former Grange Hill actor Lee MacDonald, who had recently been voted off.
Cirque De Celebrite requires the stars to master circus skills such as the unicycle and trapeze before performing them in the big top.
Sophie joins the circus - Oct 11 2006
Sophie Anderton has joined the line-up for new TV show Cirque De Celebrite.
The model and reality show staple will learn circus skills alongside Big Brother bitch Grace Adams-Short and model Emma B in the Sky One show, according to the Daily Star.
Also taking part are Syed Ahmed from The Apprentice, pop queen Sinitta and other familiar faces who like the limelight.

However, Sophie is now known more for her string of affairs with the likes of Matt Goss, Dan MacMillan and Mark Bosnich, who was recently accused of assaulting the model. She has also recently let the tabloids in on a secret or two about her private life, the fact that she’s a cocaine addict and has been taking drugs since she was fourteen, that she worked as a high class prostitute and that she has tried to commit suicide.
With a life that makes a Jackie Collins novel look tame - a car accident that nearly resulted in the loss of a leg, stints in rehab, abusive boyfriends and millionaire playboy lovers, Sophie is the perfect celebrity.
Having exorcised some of her demons she is now settled in Belgravia and hoping to launch a Hollywood career some time in the future, having told the papers "If Kelly Brook can do it so can I."
