A group of us had an Xmas party where we went bowling in Whiteleys. We heard that the food wasn't particularly good in there, so headed down Westbourne Grove. All of the restaurants along the way were fully booked (it was a Friday night), the rain coupled with me and my female friend complaining that our feet were hurting in our heels; the boys suggested GBK. On entry, the interior was modern and clean. We had a large table at the back, perfect for a group of people. The waiter was helpful, the menu had quite a selection of different burgers. We didn't have to wait long until we tucked in. I have to admit, I was particularly unadventurous and choose a junior beef burger (not just for kids!), as the main burgers looked too large for me. Everyone seemed to enjoy the place and food, and although slightly more expensive than your average highstreet burger joint, definitely worth a try.

Absolutely love Cafe Diana, I'm a regular. If you fancy eating in a friendly, slightly quirky (lots of Princess Di pictures on the walls - hence the name) cafe, which happens to be in a superb location (Kensington Gardens on the opposite side of the road, and within a few minutes walking distance from Notting Hill Gate Underground Station (Central, District & Circle Lines), then I would highly recommend it. Ok, the decor is somewhat dated, but that just adds to the appeal of the place, it feels sort of homely. What's especially lovely is that the guy, Fawad, that runs the place always has a smile on his face, and remembers my name - great service :-)
There are few places in London that do great fish & chips. George's is probably the best that I've been to, and is pretty local to me. The fish & chips are delicious, portions more than substantial and it's not that expensive. There is no inside seating, but there are a couple of tables outside that you can sit. I usually venture down here on the odd Friday. It's apparently a favourite of (Chef) Jamie Oliver & (Designer) Julien Macdonald. Located in the rather quirky/trendy Portobello Road, it's also a great spot to walk around and have a look at the nearby stalls - there are even stalls serving a variety of ethnic foods, so a great area to come back to.
I regularly visit this Starbucks in Notting Hill during the week, to give me that much needed push to start the day! Since I never order anything but that and the occassional apple & cinnamon muffin (yum), they see me in the queue and have my drink ready by the time I'm ready to order.
Fantastic service and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Even if you decide not to eat here, this is still a good place to have a few cheeky drinks before heading off to the many restaurants in Notting Hill (I recommend Kensington Place, which is just across the road from The Mall).

The Churchill Arms is one of the local pubs in my area. It's located on Kensington Church St, not far from Notting Hill Gate Underground Station. I like it because it's sort of quirky looking with lots of hanging baskets on the oustide of the pub (as you can see from the picture). The bar area is pretty small, but in the summertime it's actually quite nice just to stand outside. There is also a restaurant area that has been recognised for it's great Thai food, which is delicious and pretty inexpensive. They also do three types of roast dinner on a Sunday. A really lovely pub in a nice area with friendly staff. Definitely recommend going there.
