Barkers Arcade is far too upmarket to be called a shopping centre, far too selective to be called a shopping hang out and much too posh for me to be able to really buy anything in it - but God do I love it...

Barkers of Kensington - that Art Deco shopping experience is now incorporated into Barkers Arcade, a regal building in Kensington High Street that holds lots of top and exclusive shops. There is Karen Millan, Jaegar, House of Fraser, Hobbs - the list goes on and on. On entering the building there is a place where you can sit down and have a coffee in comfort and also perhaps buy an antique - paintings and furniture range themselves around the middle of the area.

You can look upon Barkers Arcade as a glorious department store in the realm of Selfridges or you can think of the Arcade as a eclectic collection of designer outlets - either way you will not be disappointed.
