Wodka
Polish

Polish and Eastern European food may not be high on your cuisine hit list, but you definitely shouldn't miss trying one of Kensington's finest eating institutions, Wodka.

Set in the pretty residential area of Kensington, Wodka is as far away from the mean streets of Warsaw you can imagine, occupying an old building that was originally the dairy to Kensington Palace.

Opened in 1989 by Jan Woroniecki, Wodka has become one of the restaurant landmarks of London with its combination of good food, great vodka and relaxed, informal atmosphere. Old tiles and wood paneling give the restaurant an understated elegance.

Strong flavours and robust cooking dominate the menu, the hallmark of Eastern European country cooking. All the classic Polish dishes can be found on the menu such as Kaszanka (black sausage), Leniwe (cheese and herb dumplings) and Golabki (cabbage leaves with pork, wild rice & cranberry sauce) and don't forget to down a few vodkas from the impressive vodka list for a truly Polish eating experience.
